Sea Otter Digital Illustration
I thought I’d try something new which is not that new for me but something different at least. I had a crazy dream about being attacked by a raging sea otter (don’t ask what that means and don’t tell me either. I don’t want to know) so I turned it into a drawing. I went about my usual process and was getting set to ink it and paint it and thought I’d give it a whirl as a digital piece. I’m quite happy with how it turned out and it was interesting to get back to the digital illustration.
Happy New Year!
It’s time to sort through all of those New Year resolutions. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of time to forget them too.

Mike Huckabee Illustration
Pen and Ink with Watercolor
Mike Huckabee was the 44th Governor of Arkansas and was the longest serving Governor in that state’s history.
According to his web site, mikehuckabee.com, Huckabee is also a bestselling New York Times author, former host of the number one weekend show on the Fox News Channel, and a longtime radio commentator. On top of all of that he’s a bass player and was named “Man of the Year” by the American Sportfishing Association in 1997.
And yes, he wants to be President.
Hillary Clinton Illustration
Pen and Ink, Watercolor
Hillary Clinton Portrait (again). This time I am combining a lighter watercolor wash with the splatter technique that I enjoy. It has a great deal of energy and passion to it. The spontaneous application of the watercolor feels much more natural and less controlled. I like this approach as well.

Further exploration of this style which is a lot of fun. Working this into a series of portraits to see how it develops.
