President Obama endorsed Hillary Clinton today for the Democratic Presidential nomination. I thought this would be a good time to re-post this image.

Martin O’Malley is the former Mayor of Baltimore and Governor of Maryland who recently was seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. President in 2016. According to his website, martinomalley.com, he worked to pass marriage equality in Maryland, signed a bill banning discrimination against transgender Marylanders, raised Maryland’s minimum wage, and helped to revitalize Baltimore’s economy among other things. O’Malley has since dropped his run for U.S. President.

Lawrence Lessig is a Harvard Law Professor who was running for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 U.S. Presidential race. According to the lessig2016.us web site. He helped to build the field of internet law in 2002 when he “co-founded Creative Commons, which gives artists and authors free tools to share their creativity widely on their own terms.” Additionally, he “helped challenge regulations that weakened the freedom of creativity and threatened the Internet, serving on the boards of the Free Software Foundation, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Software Freedom Law Center, and Public Knowledge.”

Lessig ended his nomination on November 2, 2015 leaving the Democratic nomination field a little smaller.

Lincoln Chafee has served as a Mayor, Governor, and U.S. Senator. In 1992 he was elected as the Mayor of Warwick, Rhode Island as a Republican. According to his web site, chafee2016.com, he was the only Republican in the Senate to vote against authorizing the use of military force in Iraq. In 2010, he became the first Independent Governor for Rhode Island in over 150 years. In 2015, he was a Democratic candidate for U.S. President. Chafee has ended his run for President on October 23, 2015.

Another candidate for U.S. President in 2016. This time Lindsey Graham, a Senator from South Carolina since 2003. According to his campaign website, Senator Graham was born and raised in South Carolina and joined the U.S. Air Force after law school as a member of the Judge Advocate General Corps. Graham has a 33-year military career. #illustration #inktober

Bobby Jindal is seeking the Republican party nomination and is currently in his second term as the Governor of Louisiana. According to the site, bobbyjindal.com, he attended Oxford University as a Rhodes scholar, graduating in 1994 with a Masters Degree in literature with a concentration in healthcare policy. In 1996, he was head of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals at the age of 24.

Hillary Clinton Portrait (again). This time I am combining a lighter watercolor wash with the splatter technique that I enjoy. It has a great deal of energy and passion to it. The spontaneous application of the watercolor feels much more natural and less controlled. I like this approach as well.
